The Quagga is so far the only extinct species of zebra.
It was distinct from other zebras with having tannish-brown in it's color and no stripes in the bottom area. It become extinct from over-hunting. Though there is an attempt to recreate them with using a normal zebra and some quagga DNA. After about 2 or 3 generations a tannish-brown zebra was born. Becoming a new species of Quagga with an unofficial name, which is called Rau's quagga.
