The Platypus is a medium-sized semi-aquatic mammal that primarily lives in Eastern Australia.

Platypus

It is native to Eastern Australia, though it does live on an islanda more westwards (whic they were only introduced to that area). They are usually found in wet places and climate.

Apperance[]

The body and the broad, flat tail of the platypus are covered with dense, brown fur that traps a layer of insulating air to keep the Platypus warm. The fur is waterproof, and the texture is much like  that of a mole. The platypus uses its tail for storage of fat reserves. It has webbed feet and a large rubbery snout, these are features that appear closer to those of a duck than to those of any other known mammal. The webbing is more significant on the front feet and is folded back when walking on land. One of its most reconizable features is its duck-like bill which is why it is also known as the duck-billed platypus. It is also one of the few known posionse mammals. The toxin is only found in males and is located is spures behind each of its backlegs. Its tail is quite similer to a beavers in anotomy and is also used like a beaver's tail because it stores fat in it. It is one of the few mammals that lay eggs.
